Today we celebrate the feastday of the holy Guardian Angels. On Tuesday we had celebrated that of the 3 Archangels whose names we know of from the Bible: Michael (whose name means "Who is like God?", Gabriel ("God is my strength") and Raphael ("God heals").
Q. What is the most important thing to know about angels?
A. That they exist. (It's the most important thing to know about anything.)
Q. Hmmm... Ok. What's the second most important thing to know about angels?
A. That there are good angels and bad angels. (Normally though, we use the word "angel" to refer to the good ones, and "demons" or "devils" to refer to the bad ones.)
Good angels are interested and involved in helping us make it to heaven. Devils on the other hand, are trying to do everything in their power to make sure that doesn't happen.
So the devils are like on a tantrum similar to a teen who has been dumped by their significant other: that teen goes home and destroys everything they have that may remind them of their former love: selfies, bracelets, wallpapers, songs, etc. The devil and his angels, having ended their love affair with their Creator, they go off home (hell) and begin destroying anything and everything that reminds them of their former love.
And what are the realities that remind him of God? What realities does he try to destroy?
To find out, see you Sunday!
