Into the Breach

A breach is “a gap in a wall, barrier, or defence, especially one made by an attacking army.”  The phrase is borrowed.  The concept is not.  I’m looking for men – young men.  Young, manly men.  Young, daring, manly men.  If you don’t qualify for that one noun and three adjectives, you can stop reading for today.

To the rest: I know what the beginning of this crusade is like.  I do not know how it will end. A few of us will start.  From experience, even fewer will finish.  To sign up is free.  To keep going will cost you blood, sweat and tears… and time, friends, pastimes, a helluva lot of effort and all your comfort. I do not know what those who sign up already have to start with.  I know what they will finish with.

I’m looking for young, daring, manly men: men who love their studies and love their work; who are passionate about sports and fitness or just a walk outdoors; men who adore their girlfriends or wives if they have any and treat her like a queen.  I’m looking for young, daring manly men who can admit their faults and failings out loud and who would then enter the ring bruised and bleeding but relishing another round; men who can give without counting the cost and who can kneel in prayer; men who crave to change the environment around them and who would never leave a brother behind; men who can make time when they’re called on, and make time with a smile; men who love their country and are ablaze with a passion to lift other men.

I’m looking for young, daring, manly men: men with firm handshakes because they know what they have inside and yet are humble enough to shut up, listen and learn; men who don’t count being corrected by a brother or a mentor as being criticized and who know how to obey promptly; men who are loyal and can commit themselves; men who can commit themselves for 5 months: 2nd May to 2ndOctober 2020; men who will commit themselves to living out an extraordinary manliness right there where their ordinary life, loves and passions find them.

If you are one of these men, send me a short text… then we march into the breach!  To the rest, see you in Part 39.
