Intro
Imagine you were to die now… Dead.
Now answer the following questions.
Short Exercise 37
- Would God your Father be happy to judge you?
- What would your family remember you for?
- What would your closest three friends remember you for?
- Which three persons would you say you have made deeply happy in your lifetime?
- Who would you say you have offended the most in your lifetime? Did you ever bother to apologise to them? If not, could now be the time? A short, sincere text – with no excuse attached to it! And then never revisit the matter.
- Which three people would you say have made you deeply happy in your lifetime? Who gave you that deep joy of feeling useful, wanted, worth something, capable of achieving something worthwhile? Have you ever expressed your sincere gratitude to them ?
- Which three persons would you say have challenged you the most in your life? The ones who have supported you most in your growth in body, mind and soul? In your studies, your work, your skills and your talents?
Commentary on your answers to each Question above
1. Your past may be messy and far from exemplary. Tomorrow doesn’t have to be the same. Start again now and as many times as you need to!
2 & 3. That’s the legacy you’re leaving behind… If on the other hand you’re unable to answer this, perhaps now is your chance to ask one of those friends a very weird question.
4. If you’re unable to answer this, I hope it is not because your entire life has been spent making yourself happy.
5. Apologise and move on. But more importantly, forgive those who have offended you and move on. Never revisit the matter ever again.
6 & 7. Keep these guys as close to you as you can. And even if they die or have already passed on, have recourse to them.
