Introduction
We’re now a month into the daily Guide to Manliness. We conclude this self-evaluation we’ve been working on these last three days. Today, we continue to focus on reaching out to other men and on the mind.
End-month Self Evaluation
- Is my desire to grow in manliness ambitious enough to include many other men – relatives, friends and acquaintances of mine?
- Is this same desire concrete? Despite wanting to help as many men as possible, are there a number I have specifically singled out to accompany along this adventure?
- Is this same desire constant and persevering? After trying one or two ways of helping my friends man up, do I give up when I don’t see the results I’m expecting?
- Is this same desire studious, shrewd and clever? Do I pray and think deeply of how to assist each individual with his peculiar circumstances? Am I using all the means available to me to make their struggle for manliness practical, achievable, cheerful and attractive? Do I share with them whatever resources have been of great help to my own struggle for manliness?
- With my training, my knowledge, my skills and my talents, what current and specific problem in society am I best placed to begin to resolve?
- In my academics and in my profession, am I sincerely striving to be excellent or am I part of the problem?
- Do I take advantage of my free time – especially in these lockdown days – to discover movies, series, music, anime, video games that are wholesome? Am I challenging myself to read books, follow Twitter handles and IG pages, listen to podcasts that will challenge me to think deeply about whatever human field I have an interest in?
- Do I make good use of the internet to learn more about concepts and ideas that I don’t understand well and that are related to my field of work or of interest? Am I striving to keep up-to-date with the advances, debates and developments being spearheaded by the global leaders in my field of interest or of work?
Congratulations! You’ve completed a month. Kazi iendelee!
